One of the defining attributes of Bandra West is its pervasive Portuguese heritage. Bandra was settled by the Portuguese in 1534 when it had been an easy fishing village, and it remained element of their territory even following the Bombay Islands were being transferred on the British in 1661. Throughout their profession of the area, the Portuguese
